Depth: 40-78 feet
Ambers Arches is an excellent dive site! We descend down the mooring line to a reef plateau that sits at about 40 feet. A short trip across the plateau will bring us to a drop off that holds some truly interesting rock structures including several nice undercut ledges and a couple holes we can swim through. The ledges are home to eels, lobsters and a variety of dark-loving fish. We also commonly find reef sharks lurking inside them (don’t worry, they aren’t scary – see my article about sharks here).
Ambers Arches is also a great dive site for the possibility of seeing a very rare Longnose Hawkfish. The following video clip shows a small one hanging out in a Black Coral growth.
